A working visual system is a wonderful thing and we are all so grateful when we have the ability to see clearly. Vision is one of the major components of balance. Try closing your eyes for a few seconds to see how different you feel without it. Many of our patients are surprised to discover just how dependent on vision they have become. Back in 2016, I looked around and saw a real gap in concussion care. People didn't know which medical provider to see and when they went to see someone, often they left with no more information than when they went in. For the second year in a row, I have had the honor of bringing a "dream team" of speakers to our NJ Community, and beyond, to provide up to date treatment considerations to Physical Therapists. Many people are surprised that PTs are involved in concussion management. In fact, physical therapists are responsible for most of the areas involved in concussive injuries. A skilled PT can make all the difference in your recovery. This webinar series is aimed at assisting more PTs
#NJPT4Concussion is a new initiative that my colleagues and I, in the APTANJ Vestibular Special Interest Group, created for this year, 2021. We have had an incredible summer of cutting edge webinars to really facilitate excellent treatment for patients with concussions. Now we are getting the word out - if you had a concussion, you should see a PT with specialized training - we can help you get better!!
