Dr. Tara Porfido, PT, DPT, PhD

Tara Porfido, PT, DPT, PhD. is a wonderful addition to Balance Concussion Therapy Center. She comes to us with a very strong background as she is an adjunct Professor in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Rutgers University, teaching the concussion content in the Neurologic Physical Therapy course and leading an elective course on the physical therapy evaluation and management of concussion.

Dr. Porfido received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Rutgers University and completed her Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences at Rutgers University.

Dr. Porfido’s research focuses on the cervical spine, investigating how the neck is involved in sport-related concussion risk and recovery.

Dr.Porfido is also a member of the American Physical Therapy Association Vestibular
Special Interest Group and is committed to improving the quality of life for individuals with balance and vestibular disorders.
